Job Title: General Operative

Location: Conneely’s Funeral Home, Flood Street, Galway City.
Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking General Operative to join our team. This is a varied and hands-on role that involves assisting with the day-to-day operations of a funeral service business. The successful candidate will play an important part in ensuring our vehicles, premises, and equipment are maintained to a high standard while providing support during funeral services and collections.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean, maintain, and present company vehicles to a high standard.

• Assist with the cleaning and upkeep of premises, facilities, and equipment.

• Prepare coffins and related funeral service materials with care and attention to detail.

• Assist with the collection and transportation of the deceased in a professional and respectful manner.

• Provide support during funeral services, including carrying out operational and logistical duties as required.

• Help with the setup and preparation of funeral venues and equipment.

• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company procedures and health and safety requirements.

• Maintain a professional, respectful, and compassionate approach at all times.

Requirements

• Must hold a full, clean Irish driving licence and meet the requirements of the company's fleet insurance policy.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work as part of a team and use initiative when required.

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.

• Reliable, punctual, and professional in appearance and conduct.

• Ability to fulfil the manual handling requirements of the role, with training and supports provided.

• Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.
