Paddy passed away peacefully on Friday, 20th March 2026, with his loving family by his side, in the care of the staff at University Hospital Galway.
Predeceased by his beloved daughter Rachel, his son Alan, his father Paddy Snr, his mother Theresa, his stepmother Theresa, and his brother Edward.
Paddy will be deeply missed by his heartbroken family; his loving wife Majella, his sons Ruairí and Derek, his daughters Sharon and Rebecca, his grandchildren, brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and many friends.
He will be remembered by his colleagues in the Civil Defence, with whom he gave many years of valued service.

Funeral Arrangements
Monday, 23rd March 2026
Paddy will repose at Conneely’s Funeral Home, Flood Street, Galway (H91 A786) from 5.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m., with removal afterwards to the Church of the Sacred Heart, Westside.
Tuesday, 24th March 2026
Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 11.30 a.m. in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Westside.
Funeral afterwards to Bohermore Cemetery.

Family and friends are welcome to join the funeral cortege as it travels from the church to the cemetery via the Quincentennial Bridge, where the hearse will pause overlooking Eamonn Deacy Park, a place where Paddy spent many happy times.
The family would like to sincerely thank all those who cared for Paddy and all who have supported them at this difficult time.

Limited Family Parking is available at the funeral home for up to 5 cars. Additional parking is available nearby at Hynes Yard Multi-Storey Car Park, located just a short walk from the funeral home. A set-down point is available outside the funeral home for those with mobility difficulties.
