Brian Mitchell
Brian passed away peacefully on Friday, 12th June 2026, surrounded by his loving family, following a short illness bravely borne.
Predeceased by his beloved mother Mary, his father Samuel, and his sister Irene.
Brian will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his adoring wife Bernie, his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, the extended Mitchell and Devereux families, neighbours and many friends. The Mitchell and Devereux families would like to sincerely thank all those who cared for Brian throughout his illness, especially the staff of St. Joseph’s Ward, University Hospital Galway, for their kindness, compassion and dedicated care.

Funeral Arrangements - Wednesday, 17th June 2026
Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Brian at 11.00 a.m. in St. Brigid’s Church, Ballybane. Following Mass, a cremation service will take place in Shannon Crematorium at 2.00 p.m.
A memorial gathering to celebrate Brian’s life will take place at a later date in his home in Castlepark, Ballybane. Donations, if desired, may be made in Brian’s memory to the Irish Cancer Society.
