John passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, 4th July 2026, surrounded by his loving family, following an illness bravely borne.

 

 

John will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his devoted wife Gráinne; his beloved parents Frank and Mona; his cherished children Paul and Rachel, their partners Ronan and Selina, and their mother Michelle; his brothers and sister Mary, Michael and Gerard; his brother-in-law Mike Swan; sisters-in-law Mary Garvin and Karen Conway; Gráinne's children Michael, Conor, Lorcan and Niamh, and their partners Djihane, Laura, Laura and Darren; his father-in-law Ray Conroy and mother-in-law Mary Conroy; nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

 

John's family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all those who cared for him throughout his illness, especially those who showed him such kindness, compassion and dedicated care.

Funeral Arrangements

 

Wednesday, 8th July 2026

John will repose in the Holy Family Funeral Parlour, Mervue (H91 FH52), from 5.00 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. Please note that there will be no removal to the adjoining Church this evening.

Access to the Funeral Parlour is through the main church entrance. A wheelchair-accessible entrance is also available at ground level via the church car park.

 

Thursday, 9th July 2026

Requiem Mass will be celebrated for John at 11.00 a.m. in the Holy Family Church, Mervue.

Friday, 10th July 2026

A private family cremation service will take place at 3.00 p.m. in Shannon Crematorium (V14 PV30).

 

 

Family flowers only, please. Donations, if desired, may be made in John's memory to St. Francis Hospice.

 

The family would like to thank everyone for their kindness, support and prayers during this difficult time. An online Book of Condolence is available below for those who wish to leave a message of sympathy and support for the family.
