Marto passed away on Tuesday, 25th August 2026, in Canada, with his partner Elvira by his side.
Predeceased by his parents, Joe and Mary.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his partner Elvira, his children Emma, Brian and Conor, and their mother Alice. He will also be greatly missed by his brother Gerard, grandchildren Cara, Gabriel and Oscar, son-in-law Colm, daughter-in-law Meredith, cousins, extended family and many friends.
His absence will be deeply felt by all those who knew him.
In accordance with his wishes, his cremation will take place in Canada, and his ashes will be interred in his family plot at Meelick Cemetery.
A gathering will take place on Friday the 11th of September at 4:30pm to 7pm in the Salthill Hotel, Galway to remember Marto.
All Welcome.
On Saturday the 12th of September, the funeral ceremony will take place in
St. Francis Church, Meelick at 3:30pm followed by burial in the adjacent cemetery (eircode: H53 H728).
Family flowers only.
